Commercial & Institutional

Glass is the weakest part of your building. Fix that first.

Storefronts, restaurants, offices, clinics and schools across North Georgia and Western North Carolina. Solar control that shows up on the power bill, safety film that shows up on the day you need it.

Schools & public facilities

Safety film buys minutes. Minutes are the whole point.

3M Ultra S800 is a tear-resistant multilayer film that holds glass in the opening after impact. An intruder who expected one swing now needs a sustained, loud, visible attack — and your lockdown protocol gets the time it was designed around.

It is not bulletproof. 3M states this plainly and so do we. Safety and security film is a glass-retention and delay product. Any vendor marketing it as ballistic protection is misleading you, and in a school that is not a small thing.

The part most bids leave out

Film alone doesn't get you a forced-entry rating. The attachment does.

Filmed glass still pops out of the frame as a sheet unless the film is anchored to the frame. 3M makes two attachment systems, and which one you want depends almost entirely on whether people are in the building.

Wet-applied

Impact Protection Attachment (IPA) sealant

A structural silicone bead gunned into the glazing pocket, bonding film to frame. The strongest bond available and the standard spec for a hardened perimeter. It needs cure time and it has a solvent odor while it sets, which makes scheduling matter.

  • · 350 psi ultimate tensile strength
  • · 525% elongation before failure
  • · Shore A hardness 40
  • · Best for: after-hours, breaks, summer shutdown

Dry-applied

Impact Protection Profile (IPP)

A pre-formed profile that adheres mechanically with no wet chemistry. No odor, no solvent, no ventilation plan — full adhesion in one to two days. For an occupied school hallway or a restaurant that can't close, this is usually the right call.

  • · Greater than 20,500 psi tensile strength
  • · Full adhesion in 1–2 days
  • · No odor, no cure-out ventilation
  • · Best for: occupied buildings, tight schedules

Attachment systems are what let a filmed opening be tested against standards like ASTM F1642, GSA TS01-2003, ISO 16933, ANSI Z97.1 and EN 12600. Ask any bidder which attachment they've specced. If the answer is "none," you're buying a film job, not a security system.

“Their team was punctual, efficient, and demonstrated a keen attention to detail in every aspect of the installation process… their clear communication and transparency during the project timeline allowed us to make informed decisions and stay on schedule.”
Erica Chastain · Facilities Director, Towns County Schools

Towns County School System researched several companies before selecting True South — the deciding factors were our reputation and our 3M partnership. We filmed their buildings around an active school calendar.

If you're a facilities director, a principal, or a board member evaluating vendors, we can put you directly in touch with Erica. There is no better due diligence than talking to the last district that did this.

Solar control

The energy math, using 3M's own case study.

A 345,000 square foot installation on San Francisco's Embarcadero Center paid for itself in under a year through cooling load reduction. Your building is smaller, but the arithmetic doesn't change: the cheapest kilowatt is the one your chiller never has to move.

Peak load drops

West-facing glass is where your HVAC loses. Film flattens the afternoon spike instead of paying to fight it.

Hot and cold spots even out

Tenants stop fighting the thermostat when the window-side desks stop cooking at 3pm.

Merchandise stops fading

99.9% UV rejection protects inventory, menus, upholstery and signage sitting in a display window.

Storm and accident cleanup

Even standard safety film keeps broken glass out of a dining room or a hallway.

True South's team demonstrated a profound understanding of the window tinting industry. The installation of 3M Window Film has significantly improved the safety features of our school buildings.

They filmed our whole dining room glass between services so we never lost a night. Guests stopped asking to be moved off the sun side, and the kitchen side of the building finally holds temperature.

Professional from the walkthrough to the invoice. Itemized quote, no surprises, and the security film went on our storefront exactly as scheduled.

Twenty-five years of doing this shows. He answered the phone, he showed up, and the work is flawless. Hard to find all three in one shop anymore.

Straightest shooter I've dealt with in this trade. Told me what I did not need before he told me what I did. That is why we keep sending people up the mountain to him.

Clean shop, clean work, and the lifetime warranty paperwork was in my hand before I left. Five stars without hesitation.

Send us square footage and a priority.

We'll walk the building, spec the film and the attachment system, and put it in writing. Purchase orders and district procurement are routine for us.
