True South installer on a tall ladder applying 3M film to cathedral windows in a new construction home

Residential

A view worth keeping shouldn't cost you the room.

Cathedral glass facing a Blue Ridge sunset is the whole reason you built here — and the reason the great room hits 84° by four o'clock. Film fixes the heat without taking the view.

3M Night Vision series

A film that works without turning your house into a mirror.

Older solar films bought their performance with reflectivity — great for an office tower, wrong for a cabin. Night Vision keeps an exterior view from the inside, day and night, while doing the heavy lifting on heat and UV.

Performance varies by glass type, pane count and orientation. We measure your actual glass before recommending a shade — a double-pane low-E window on a north wall is a different problem than a single-pane south-facing slider.

What people actually call us about

Four problems, one roll of film.

Sliding glass door with one tinted pane showing clear mountains and one untinted pane blown out by glare

Glare that erases the TV and the laptop

Between two and five in the afternoon, half the house becomes unusable. Film knocks the glare down to a level where you can actually see a screen — and, in the same pass, sharpens the view outward because your eyes stop fighting the brightness.

A-frame cabin peak with red trim and large tinted windows

Heat in July, heat loss in January

This is the part people miss. Low-emissivity film reflects interior heat back into the room during winter — the same coating that pushes summer sun away holds your woodstove heat in. A mountain cabin runs both problems in the same calendar year.

Floors, rugs and leather going pale

UV is the fast killer and visible light is the slow one. 3M film cuts 99.9% of UV, which is the single cheapest thing you can do to protect a hardwood floor or a piece of furniture that cost more than the film job.

Modern dark house exterior with tinted glass doors reflecting trees and a deck table

Daytime privacy without curtains

Reflective and dual-reflective films give you daytime privacy from the outside while you keep looking out. Be clear on the trade: after dark, with interior lights on, the effect reverses. We'll tell you that before you buy, not after.

New construction

Film it before the furniture goes in.

Builders and designers call us at trim-out. Clean site, clear access, ladders already staged — the whole house goes faster and cheaper than it will once there's a sectional under the glass.

Seal warranties stay intact. Applying the wrong film to the wrong insulated glass unit can void a manufacturer's seal warranty. We check the glass spec against 3M's application chart before we quote — that's part of what being an authorized dealer means.

Curing takes days, not minutes. You'll see moisture haze and small water pockets for a week or two while the mounting solution works out. That's normal. Don't scrub it, don't panic, and don't let anyone tell you a fresh install is supposed to look perfect on day one.

One crew, start to finish. No subcontractors on your house. The people who quote the job are the people on the ladder.

Our cabin has a wall of glass facing west and the great room was unusable by four o'clock. After the 3M film went on, the room is comfortable all afternoon and we still have the whole view.

We wanted daytime privacy on the deck-facing sliders without living in a cave. He showed us samples on our own glass before we committed. Furniture has stopped fading too.

Twenty-two windows, two days, drop cloths everywhere and not a fingerprint left behind. Our power bill dropped noticeably the first full summer month.

Twenty-five years of doing this shows. He answered the phone, he showed up, and the work is flawless. Hard to find all three in one shop anymore.

Straightest shooter I've dealt with in this trade. Told me what I did not need before he told me what I did. That is why we keep sending people up the mountain to him.

Clean shop, clean work, and the lifetime warranty paperwork was in my hand before I left. Five stars without hesitation.
